Yesterday I went to a workshop at the Japanese Museum in Little Tokyo, presented by Glennis Dolce from Shiborigirl Studios, and even though I only did half of it, I was able to learn a few things, produced a few pieces and am sure I want to develop more of this art, I totlally love fabrics and the ways shibori deals with it is awesome.
Shibori (絞り染め Shiborizome) is a Japanese term for several methods of dyeing cloth with a pattern by binding, stitching, folding, twisting, compressing it, or capping. Some of these methods are known in the West as tie-dye.
